HeartFocus Releases 1st U.S. Product on Butterfly Network Handheld Ultrasound

HeartFocus, an artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled cardiac imaging software developed by DESKi, has begun U.S. commercial launch.

The software will initially be available on Butterfly Network’s handheld ultrasound devices. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-cleared software lets any healthcare professional conduct diagnostic-quality cardiac ultrasounds after only hours of training.

HeartFocus addresses the limited access to trained sonographers and long wait times for diagnostic imaging. After just hours of training, professionals can capture comprehensive echocardiographic views with consistently that’s clinically proven to match expert operators.

It’s commercially available through Butterfly Network’s single-probe, whole-body ultrasound system and provides seamless AI integration, the company said.

HeartFocus was FDA cleared and underwent a successful international trial. Healthcare professionals can use it to conduct fast and comprehensive cardiac assessments anywhere patients are seen, from rural clinics to primary care, education, cardiology, and even in acute high-volume triage environments.
